Exploring the Roles of Service Dogs

Exploring the Roles of Service Dogs is a WebQuest activity guides learners through the world of service dogs, including training, roles, legal protections, and ethical considerations. By structuring research activities, reflection prompts, and creative projects, the WebQuest enables learners to engage critically and explore real-world implications independently.

The artifact demonstrates educational technology leadership by facilitating research and learning in an online environment, fostering ethical awareness, and guiding the school community toward informed understanding. Through this design, learners develop knowledge, empathy, and advocacy skills while interacting with digital learning tools.

Innovator Artifact - Artifact and Reflection

The Innovator Artifact is a prototype built using Adobe XD and was designed to streamline communication between educators and instructional designers by providing automated alerts for when course materials need to be reviewed or updated. The application includes a course content dashboard, automated update notifications, and a review checklist with supporting resources to ensure faculty have what they need to maintain accurate and up-to-date course materials.

The artifact demonstrates leadership in educational technology by addressing a systemic challenge, guiding collaboration between faculty and designers, and fostering a more efficient, student-focused course development process.

FetchFinderTV is a mobile application built in MIT App Inventor designed to help local dog owners and trainers connect with resources in their community. The app provides information on nearby trainers, pet-friendly spaces for training, and user-recommended favorites, all aimed at supporting local businesses and fostering community engagement.

The development of this artifact involved researching the needs of dog owners and local trainers to create a tool that centralizes valuable information, making it easier for the community to find reliable training resources. By providing guidance and facilitating informed decision-making, FetchFinderTV demonstrates leadership in using technology to support community learning and engagement in a real-world context.
